Marla S. Brinkman

Background

   

Marla is a 1999 graduate of Valparaiso University with a degree in in the areas of Biology, Chemistry and Environmental Science. She graduated from Valparaiso University School of Law in 2004. While studying at Valparaiso University School of Law, Marla was given the opportunity to work closely with her professor, preparing for and cases in the areas of Environmental Law and Constitutional Law. During the course of her studies at Valparaiso University School of Law, Marla received high honors in the areas of the History of Constitutional Law and Pretrial Skills. In addition to her experience in general practice, Marla is a member of the Federal Patent Bar and has significant experience in this area of law, in addition to her extensive experience in a general practice.

Community Involvement

   

Marla grew up in the town of Huntington, Indiana, and has served the community in a number of capacities. She was awarded the Indiana Volunteer of the Year for the State of Indiana at an early age for her volunteer work, specifically with elderly patients with disabilities. She has further served on the Board of Directors for the Huntington County Humane Society and the Board of Directors for Canine Companions. In addition to her work on behalf of the animals of Huntington County, Marla has served as a coach in local youth sports and is actively involved in Boy Scouts with her two sons. Marla and her family are also active in the First Church of the Nazarene.

Family

  

Marla has called Huntington home for substantially all of her life. She and her husband, Vincent, permanently established a home with their three children in 2004. Marla’s family is active in scouting, youth sports and volunteer work.
